christmas at our house

thanks to the creative mind of veronica stringer and the helpful hints from alora hamilton, i was able to make this advent calendar for christmas. it has been such a sweet time to talk about who God is in preparation to celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas. the calendar is still a work in progress but here is a picture.

the three of us opened presents on saturday morning. we had a great time together. emsleigh loved her new toy. she can't move it yet, but she loves to just sit on it. in the first picture you can see three books. these are three little books by debbie anderson called Jesus Loves Me, Jesus is with Me, and Jesus Loves the Little Children. i highly recommend them, i hope emsleigh likes them as much as i do!

we are off to texas for Christmas with my family and will be back to kansas city to ring in the new year with jeremiah's family.

It has been really fun to watch Emsleigh discover her way around the house. 

Mom, I finally found procrastination to be beneficial. I never put these poles up. Emsleigh made her way into the kitchen and had a grand time playing with them. Thanks for leaving them out :)!

Emsleigh's friend Josiah

My dear friend Kristin and her son Josiah came over to visit. 

Jeremiah and her husband, Dan, drive to school together on Thursdays giving us the perfect chance to hang out.  Emsleigh loved playing with Josiah. 

She is so proud of her friend!

You can't see it well, but Emsleigh has stolen Josiah's sock. Josiah didn't like taking his socks off as much as she likes taking off hers :)!

Visit to Jacksonville

Emsleigh and I spent the weekend in Jacksonville, Florida 

with my dear Mimi. We got to see my Aunt Karen, Uncle Wayne and 

cousin Nicole along with meeting Nathan. It was a fun weekend.

Nicole gave Emsleigh some new exciting books. 

Emsleigh also started to master patty cake. 

AND, on a layover in Nashville we got to see Leslie!! 

Not many people will drop what they are doing, leave work and 

come see you at the airport in a moments notice. Thanks Leslie, we love you!!!
