The Christmas Tree

It shouldn't have been hard, but we had quite the time finding a Christmas tree. We went to all the wrong places first and finally ended up at a Walmart in a town down the road. We stuffed the tree into the car instead of buying rope and tying it on top. It was a fun ride home.

Decorating for Christmas is always one of my favorite events of Thanksgiving week. It was extra fun this year since Emsleigh could help.

My Mimi gave Emsleigh this sweet little ornament last year. It is a sleeping baby in a pea pod. Every time Emsleigh walks by the tree she has to stop and say "AWWWW" and then tell us "SHHH" since the baby is sleeping.

I have to show off my mother-in-law's creativity and sewing skills. She made these adorable penguins. Emsleigh and I both love them!

Here is our finished tree. I love Christmas!

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving is usually the one time of year both of our families are together. We are thankful for the time together and I love this picture of Emsleigh with her Grancy, Memaw and Pepaw.

Our dear friend, Elanor, spent Thanksgiving with us as well. We were so thankful to have her celebrate with us. She has been such a blessing to us these past four years in Pattonsburg.

Emsleigh and Uncle Tommy playing with some animals.

Emsleigh relaxing with a little football after lunch. She loved mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and the rolls the best.

One Great Week

I love Thanksgiving week. My mom comes and we cook and eat and watch cheesy Christmas movies and do puzzles and lots of other fun things. I am sad that the week is over and I have to try and suppress my sugar craving and get out of a vacation mindset!

We did crafts this week. Here is Emsleigh painting a caterpillar made out of an egg carton. Grancy is so creative!

Reading is a must for Emsleigh and of course teacher Grancy loved every minute of it.

Emsleigh loved to help with the puzzles!

My mom got Emsleigh the Fisher Price Little People Nativity Set. As seen below, she was super excited and we all have had lots of fun playing with it. Emsleigh loves Mary and Baby Jesus the most. She has to have them together at all times and always makes sure Mary gives Baby Jesus kisses.

Don't worry, it may not look like it, but I am pretty sure I changed Emsleigh out of her pajamas at some point during the week! :)!

Snuggle up...

for a good book...

or some Bible reading...

or better yet, a nap!

Emsleigh and Daddy

Jeremiah taught Ems how to preach the other day, of course only to women :)!

Reading with daddy.

Doing dishes with daddy.

Love the Fall

I love everything about the fall and it is extra fun sharing 'fall' things with Emsleigh. Thanks to my friend Angela's blog, I was reminded of how much fun painting pumpkins was. So, we busted out some paint and Emsleigh had a great time painting her pumpkin.

We ended up getting carried away and I let her paint her hands and make hand prints. We had a fun time painting and playing in the water to get clean when we were finished!

Emsleigh loves pumpkins. She notices them when we are driving or walking. She has this little pumpkin that she loves to carry around. However, for some reason she calls pumpkin "doo-doo's." It makes me laugh every time.

And of course, it isn't fall if you can't play in the leaves.

4 years ago today...

we got married! Jeremiah and I were discussing this morning how our four years of marriage have been extremely hard yet incredibly good. We have walked through many difficult times throughout our four years of marriage which has been extremely hard. However, the fact that we have walked through those trials together has been incredibly good. God has drawn our hearts together in a deep way and together we have come to know and love God more and more because of these years. Praise God for the past four years!

Baa Baa Bradford Sheep

Our church does Trunk or Treat every year. This is the year of a western theme at our church including, VBS, Trunk or Treat and our Christmas program. So, since Emsleigh is enamored by sheep these days, we decided to be sheep. Thanks to help from my mom we created these simple and very homemade outfits. :)!

Cheese!

Acting so innocent as she eats her first M&M's...

Can you see her blue lips? Blue lips = a love for M&M's.

Playing Outside

With wind advisories and the cold air our outside time is sadly decreasing. We are trying to soak up as much as we can before the winter hits.

Bubbles is one of our favorite outdoor activities.

Love these faces...

Especially this one....she is running away from one of the neighborhood dogs.
