Sleeping

We have taken Ems all over this summer all in the midst of needing to transition from one nap to two. Some mommies can understand how difficult that can be even in the midst of normalcy. I would like to say she is finally adjusted, but we were both up at midnight last night :)! So, in honor of sleep transition...here are some sleeping pictures.

VBS - Saddle Ridge Ranch

We had VBS last week. Emsleigh loved it!
She enjoyed the singing and motions and seeing all the kids.

She especially loved this house to play in!

We praise God for the turnout we had this last week and believe that His Word has gone forth and will not return void! Pray for those children and adults who heard the truth to repent and believe!

I laughed

The other day someone offered Emsleigh some sort of Dorito. I politely refused the offer. But after my refusal the person asked me point blank, "When are you going to let Emsleigh experience the world?" I just laughed out loud.

Emsleigh has taken 21 plane rides....

been in 13 states (Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Nashville, Illinois, Florida, Georgia, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, Massachusetts)

AND has passport with a stamp from China in it,
all before the age of two.

My thought: Let's not equate good life experience with processed food!

The Jacksonville Beach

It was a perfect evening for a visit to the beach.
However, as soon as Emsleigh saw the ocean she was afraid.

She walked for a bit.

But later she did not want to be put down.
I believe her fear was not from the water or the sand,
but the vastness and power of the ocean.

He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He lays up the deeps in storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the LORD;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.

Some other fun pictures from the trip

The Wedding

Nicole and Nathan's wedding was beautiful and very fun.
I am really thankful we got to be there.
Here we are before the wedding.

When Emsleigh saw Nicole's dress she touched it
and looked at me and said "Ohhhh." This is what she
does when she thinks something is really cool.

We sneaked a few bubbles during the reception.

Emsleigh likes to observe.

More Travel...

Emsleigh, Grancy and I made our way to Florida for my cousin Nicole's wedding this past weekend. We had a long layover in Nashville. Thanks to little Jolie for waiting just a little bit longer to make her arrival so I could see her mommy and grandma during our wait! You can keep up with Leslie and Jolie at this blog.

Always glad to see a little indoor playground at an airport!

Once we arrived in Jacksonville we had a long wait for our luggage due to lightening in the area. Emsleigh was thankful Mimi was waiting with us so they could run around together.

The Phone

I am sure I will have a pictures identical to these in 15 years.

Ok, hopefully there won't be a bib and applesauce on her chin.

If you listen closely at the beginning you can hear her talking.

She loves hats

especially when she puts them on all by herself.

A VERY SPECIAL treat...

Lamar gave me my first ice cream cone, so we kept
with tradition and he gave Emsleigh her first ice cream cone.

She loved it and as you can see, would only eat it with a spoon.
Every time I tried to get her to lick it, she made a block with the spoon.
You can see her blocking out in the picture below. Funny girl.

Thanks Lamar for this yummy treat!!!!

Always good to see friends...

We got to steal a few minutes with Abby and sweet little Gavin.

And the Hamiltons, which was extra fun when
the kids got to play in the rain.
I love this picture...and these boys!

Nate and Ems...

Here is Roxi, Alora and me after a fun afternoon
and a delicious dinner at ROSAS!

The Fort Worth Zoo

While in Texas we got to take a trip to the zoo.
From left to right: my Aunt Deena, Emsleigh, Grancy, me,
my cousin Regan, my Uncle Lloyd (Grancy's brother) and my husband.

Emsleigh was excited to see the penguins. They are her favorite.
You can't really tell, but in this picture she is waddling like one.

Flamingos are my favorite. This one talked to us for a long time.

I love this picture. Mommy giving instruction and Daddy wearing the discarded hat.

The otter was by far the most entertaining.
