Pattonsburg Fire Station

Parents As Teachers is a great program that most school districts provide. I am thankful for the program out here. This week they held an event where we got to go and check out the Pattonsburg Fire Station.

Emsleigh enjoyed time with the other kids and learning about FireFighters. We even got to see the lights and hear the sirens on the truck!

Shoes

Emsleigh loves putting on our shoes these days.
I keep finding my flip flops in the most random places.

Going outside to play multiple times throughout the day is mandatory at our house. This is how Emsleigh clues me in on the fact that it is time to go out.

Grandma Thelma

We got to spend sometime with Grandma Thelma this week.
It is always fun to see grandparents!!!

Country Livin'

We have had a really good month at the church. We began our month with two baptisms and a deacon ordination. Yesterday only added to the fun month with a hot dog roast and hay ride for our VBS reunion. It ended up being a perfect night weather wise and we all had a great time!

We revisited our VBS songs. Little Ems is getting so big. She was able to keep up with the motions (ok, maybe not really, but alot more than she did in July) and enjoyed standing all by herself with all the other kids.

The hayride was so fun for all of us. The countryside was beautiful as the sun set.

Emsleigh and her friend Kelsey.

There was lots to see on our hayride, notice the field of horses below, that was my favorite.

3rd Annual New England Vacation

Once again this year we were able to go and visit our dear friends, the Moores, in Rhode Island. We always love this short getaway. This year we went to Newport, Rhode Isand and checked out the fancy mansions and pretty beaches. Emsleigh and Nora were quite the pair. These two are very different, but enjoyed each other no less!

Emsleigh spent her whole time at the beach on a blanket with her banana.

While Nora explored the sand and ocean!

We enjoyed a peaceful dinner outside one night.

We also trekked over to Mystic, Connecticut. Due to hurricane Earl, our time was short. However, we did get to spend the morning at the Mystic Aquarium.

It is always exciting when we get to see real live penguins.

And a Beluga Whale.

We got to see the seal show too. It was super fun. Emsleigh clapped alot.

The girls had lots of fun playing together or should I say next to each other.

I don't think Nora wanted us to leave :)!

We were really thankful for the time we had with Danny, Katie and Nora. It was much needed needed fellowship and encouragement.
